Dr Olayide Adelami, the deputy governor of Ondo state, on Friday, received the leadership of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Akure, in his office.
JCI, a non-profit organization, is a global network of enterprising young leaders who are passionate about development.
The deputy governor lauded the organization for providing a platform for leadership development, through which young people can contribute to the society.
He said, “I must appreciate that you are driving the philosophy of your organization in a manner that benefits our state and the country at large.”
Adelami charged them to incorporate vocational training into their programs, noting that “government alone cannot provide job for everyone but create the enabling environment for those who are skilled and enterprising to operate”
Earlier in his remarks, the local organization president of JCI Akure, Kunle Olajuyin, said the purpose of the visit is to congratulate the deputy governor and also find ways through which the state government and their organization can collaborate.
Olajuyin used the opportunity to formally invite Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and his deputy to their forthcoming program in Akure.
