The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, has fixed 5th of October 2024 for the conduct of local government elections.
This was made known by the Chairman of the commission, retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli during a stakeholders’ meeting and unveiling of the 2024 Election Timetable Guidelines at the commission’s office in Port Harcourt.
Justice Enebeli called on stakeholders to work with the Commission in actualizing the set goal of conducting credible elections.
The stakeholders include political parties, Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, youth groups, women, press, faith-based organizations, physically-challenged representatives, amongst others.
