PDP Suspends National Vice Chairman South- South, Dan Orbih

The national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has suspended the party’s National Vice Chairman, South-South, Dan Orbih for anti-party activities.

This suspension follows the decision of the National Working Committee, NWC at its meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday.

The NWC members specifically frowned at what they called “the embarrassing actions and utterances of Dan Orbih relating to the Edo State Governorship Primary Election of our great Party, which actions and utterances are inconsistent with the provisions of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017) and the demand of his office as a national officer of the Party”.

The NWC has however set up a six-member committee, headed by the Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja, to investigate the issue pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the Party. Orbih is a staunch supporter of former Rivers State Governor and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike who became chummy with in the build up to defection of Governor Godwin Obaseki from the All Progressives Congress, APC to PDP for his second term election.

The party’s NWC further charged leaders and stakeholders of the Party in Edo State to remain united, focused in their fight for the party’s victory in the September 21, 2024 Governorship election in Edo State
