Service Chiefs, security agencies in close-door meeting

The Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa is expected to be in a close door meeting with other service chiefs and heads of security agencies today.

Although the agenda for the meeting was not disclosed but RovingNaija News gathered that the meeting is connected to the on going #end bad governance protest going on across the federation which has claimed the lives of some citizens and led to the destruction of properties.

The meeting taking place at Defence Headquarters, will have in attendance prominent figures, including heads of intelligence agencies such as DSS, NIA, DIA, and the Inspector-General of Police.

Other attendees will be, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar

Heads of Correctional Services, Immigration, Customs, NSCDC, and other paramilitary organisations have also been invited.

“The meeting will start at any moment from now. It is a strategic meeting on the implementation of the order given by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” a security source said.

This development comes after President Tinubu cancelled the Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday and summoned all Service Chiefs to discuss the escalating protests and the appearance of Russian flags in major cities like Kano and Kaduna.

There have also been concerns about foreign influence in the protests, notably the brandishing of foreign flags during the protest in some parts of the country.

The police have arrested several individuals in connection with the spread of Russian flags and looting of properties.
