Tosin Dokpesi, Tony Akiotu, Ambrose Somide, other Directors Retire From DAAR Communications

In its bid to re- engineer and move DAAR communications to greater heights, the communication giant has approved the retirement of some top management personnels. They include Tony Akiotu, the Group Managing Director DAAR Communications, Tosin Dokpesi, MD AIT, Ambrose Somide, MD Radio Services, Paulyn Ugbodaga, Executive Director News DAAR Communications and other nine directors.

RovingNaija News gathered that DAAR Communications Plc, owners of Africa Independent Television (AIT) and RayPower, has asked directors who have spent 10 years and above in executive positions to go on mandatory retirement.

“About 11 directors that have spent 10 years and above have been asked to go on retirement. One of them is Tosin Dokpesi who is the widow of our founder and chairman Chief Raymond Dokpesi,” a staff speaking under anonymity disclosed.

Recall that Daar Communications’ founder, Raymond Dokpesi died on May 29, 2023. His son Raymond Dokpesi Jr has been chairman since 2019.

His son, Raymond Dokpesi Jr., who has served as the company’s chairman since 2019, has overseen the organization during challenging times, including a financial loss of N1.6 billion reported for the year ending December 31, 2023.
