Road Construction: Governor Otti Flags off Ohafia-Arochukwu Highway
The Road Construction Revolution in Abia State Continues as Governor Otti Flags off Ohafia-Arochukwu Highway Tomorrow.
Flag-Off Construction of Arochukwu-Ohafia Federal Road by the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, is now scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 28, at the Old Soldier Junction, Ohafia.
It would be recalled that Governor Otti had earlier in the year flagged off the construction of the 67-Kilometre Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abiriba-Ohafia road awarded to three different construction companies with a mandate to do quality jobs in line with the set standard of the Alex Otti led-government.
Governor Otti had explained that the strategic road project was awarded to three different companies to enable them work simultaneously and deliver the project in record time, devoid of unnecessary delays and hitches that could cause suffering to motorists and other road users.
With the award of the Ohafia-Arochukwu section, it is expected that when the entire stretch of the Umuahia-Ohafia-Arochukwu road is delivered, it would ignite serious economic activities as business men and women operating within and around that part of Abia North would find it easier and more convenient to carry out their business activities, including evacuation of their farm produce to the available markets.
Governor Otti is of the opinion that it wouldn’t be in the interest of the state and the people to abandon strategic roads that could open up the state for investment and other economic activities simply because they are Federal roads, explaining that it’s still Abians that use such roads.
