Things are really looking up for elder Mike Ejeagha, the legendary folk-lore musician whose song, ‘Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche,’ went viral on social media with the popular dance step by skit maker ‘Brain Jotter’, which synchronises with the lyrics of the song ‘Gwo gwo ngwo’.
Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mba joined the league of personalities that have paid homage to the folk-lore legend.
The gesture is seen as a tribute to Ejeagha’s significant contributions to Igbo culture and music, reflecting the governor’s commitment to recognising and celebrating the state’s cultural icons.
Gov Mbah, commissioned four newly constructed and reconstructed roads in Abakpa Nike, Enugu, including the popular Obinagu road which he renamed after Mike Ejegha. Other roads inaugurated include Texaco bus stop-Ifo road and Nkpor street.
Mbah emphasized the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure, noting that more road projects were underway. He also highlighted ongoing plans to dualize the Penocks junction on the Enugu-Onitsha road to Opi-Nsukka.
“We are dedicated to fulfilling our promises,” Mbah said. “Our commitment to serving you is unwavering, and we will continue to work diligently for the people of Enugu.”
Ejeagha, represented by his son Emma and daughter Elizabeth, expressed gratitude, saying, “Mbah has honored us beyond words. Previous governments made promises, but Mbah delivered without making any.”
Gov Mba also performed the popular dance step to the cheers of the crowd.
