Breaking: NLC calls for immediate release of President Ajaero, asks affiliate bodies to be on red alert
The Nigerian Labour Congress has called for the immediate release of its president Comrade Joe Ajaero, who was arrested few hours ago by men of Department of State Security, DSS. The NLC president was said to have been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja as he was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom, for an official engagement of TUC. He is said to have been taken to the office of the National Security Adviser according to an NLC source.
“We Demand the immediate and unconditional release of Congress President, Comrade Joe Ajaero.
All affiliate union’s, state councils, civil society allies and all patriotic Nigerians be on the alert”, the workers union said
In the meantime Operatives of the DSS have taken over the office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) in Abuja.
This is coming barely 24hrs after the human right organization asked Tinubu to use his authority to revert fuel price within 28 days.
