Immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu has distributed food items and household appliances worth over One hundred and fifty Million (N150, 000, 000) Naira to some citizens in Delta state.
The items were distributed to Deltans including his supporters across the four Local Government Areas within Aniocha Oshimili Federal Constituency at his country home in Onicha-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State
Beneficiaries who got 50kg bags of rice, 100kg bags of beans, deep freezers, fridges, electricity generator sets among other items include members of the Door-to-Door WhatsApp Closed Group made up of PDP supporters from the various communities in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, which has Hon. Elumelu as Lead Administrator.
Flagging-off the distribution of the items Elumelu said the gesture was part of his appreciation to supporters of PDP who worked with him during the 2023 general election.
According to Elumelu, “There is the need to reassure people that if they are in a particular place, they can be motivated to belong to that place. This is what informed why we are doing this today.
“This is symbolic, a token to appreciate you for your support; to say thank you for your time and thank you for your interest in Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.
“Thank you also for supporting our Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, because you all worked for him and our Party, PDP.
Elumelu commended Governor Oborevwori for carrying everybody along in his unprecedented delivery of mandate adding that his administration is moving the State forwards in all sectors to the pride of his supporters, the PDP and the entire people of Delta State.
Elumelu further explained that one of the way to encourage supporters and motivate them to do more is by saying thank you to those who have worked hard.
He counseled elected officials who enjoyed the support of the people to always show appreciation, adding that it pays a lot to appreciate people that have put in efforts to support the Party.
He said Governor Oborevwori is at the forefront of appreciating the people and urged all elected officials to emulate him by always showing appreciation to those who worked hard for the Party.
“I urge those of us who are in elective offices for them to continue to emulate the Governor by always extending their hands of support to those who are not as privileged as they are and give them something because the country is experiencing hardship”, he said.
The Executive Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye who is also a member of the WhatsApp Closed Group described Hon Elumelu as a Man with a large heart.
“Rt. Hon Ndudi Elumelu has continued to torch lives despite not being a sitting member of the House of Representatives, but we know he is just on vacation.
“One thing is to have money, another thing is to be in Government, but the major thing is for you to have the heart to touch lives.
“He has indeed touched a lot of lives. You can see the joy of everybody because the hardship now is touching both the normal average Nigerian and the very poor ones; everybody is going through hardship.
“Come next dispensation, by the grace of God Almighty, he will be back to that House of Representatives where he will continue to do more for the people.
“I want to thank him on behalf of the Good people of Aniocha North. God Almighty will continue to strengthen him, and guide him wherever he goes,” the Council boss prayed.
