Iconic Music Producer, Quincy Jones, Passes on @ 91
The music world is in a mournful mood following the death of Quincy Jones, whose passing on Sunday night (November 3, 2024), was announced this Monday morning in Los Angeles, USA.
Jones is regarded as one of the global music industry’s greatest producers.
He contributed substantially to the success trajectory of the Pop King himself, the late Michael Jackson; working with him in the ‘Off the Wall,’ ‘Thriller’ and ‘Bad.’ projects. No need to add that he earned part of the credit for the the unprecedented success of ‘Thriller,’ which has sold more than 100 million copies since 1984.
The legend has many multi award-Winning albums to his credit, including ‘Back On The Block,’ ‘The ‘Dude,’ and ‘Sounds…Stuff Like That (featuring the soul-funk hit track ‘Stuff Like That,’ which introduced me to the icon’s music as a secondary school student in 1978).
He also partnered with other music greats like Frank Sinatra, Barry White, Al B. Sure, James Ingram, Will Smith, Ray Charles, Chaka Khan, and a long list of others
Nominated 80 times for the Grammy Awards, Quincy won no fewer than 28 times.
