Global Alliance Appoints NIPR President as Member, Africa Regional Council

In recognition of the outstanding initiatives shaping public relations practice within and outside the nation, the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management has appointed Dr. Ike Neliaku, President, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) as a member of the Africa Regional Council of the world’s Public Relations body.

According to a statement by Stanley Ogadigo, Director, Public Relations, the appointment which was ratified at the last Board meeting of the Global Alliance is an evidence that the effort of the current Council of the NIPR in transforming public relations practice has positive impact on the public relations ecosystem.

Describing the NIPR as “invaluable resource to Global Alliance and the global community”, Prof. Justin Green, President, Global Alliance, in his official communication on the subject, said the appointment is in recognition of the leading role the Institute has played in projecting public relations in Africa as well the robust public relations initiatives and campaigns it has embarked upon in Nigeria.

Also appointed members of Global Alliance Africa Regional Council include Irene Lungu Chipili, President, Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC), Peter Mutie, Peterson Integrated Communications, Kenya, Dr. Wole Adamolekun, Elizade University, Nigeria and Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan of the Africa Public Relations Association (APRA).

Others are, Dr. Rene Benecke, Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA) and Noella Mutanda, Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).

The Africa Regional Council is set up to support and guide Global Alliance on developmental programmes for the African continent.
