Lagos State Commissioner For Basic Education, Tackles Ifelodun LCDA Information Director

It was a melo – drama, as the Hon Commissioner for Basic Education, Lagos State, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, had during the Ifelodun Consultative Forum, on the 2025 Budget Preparations; lampooned the Director of Information and Public Affairs, Ifelodun LCDA, Olusegun Akinyemi, for overstepping his boundaries during the event.

According to eye witnesses account, Akinyemi had used the opportunity of the stakeholders meeting to reel out the achievements of the incumbent council chairman Hon Olufemi Akanbi okeowo.

The Commissioner who was visibly angry by the Information Officer’s action did not mince words when he advised Akinyemi to allow the constituents who are enjoying the projects to sing the praises of the chairman rather than he, a civil servant doing it.

The eye witnesses who pleaded anonymity said that most of the guests at the event, some of whom were politicians, agreed with the Commissioner that the Information Officer went beyond his boundaries since like other civil servants; he is not living in the said constituency, so he won’t know more than the people living there.

The Commissioner however acceded to the fact the incumbent chairman of Ifelodun LCDA, Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo has done creditably well.

“I can testify that we have a new government in Ifelodun that is inclusive and touching the people in areas of healthcare, education, and other infrastructural projects”

“Budget is a working forecast but ours in APC is a reality just as the state government does, whatever Mr. Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu says, he does it. For Hon Olufemi Okeowo, it has been a promise made, kept, and fulfilled,” Alli- Balogun said.

The Commissioner however charged the people to fulfill their own responsibilities by paying their taxes as at when due .
