NEMA Sokoto Operations Office had a very busy week delivering relief materials for victims of the 2024 Flood in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States.
Members of the Federal House of Representatives of the affected areas were on ground to monitor the deliveries of the relief items. While others sent representatives .
House of representatives members that were on ground in person include: Hon. Garba Umar Uba, representing Yauri/Shanga/Ngaski federal constituency, and Hon. Sani Alhaji Yakubu representing Gudu/Tangaza federal constituency.
Others that sent representatives include, Hon. Mansur Musa (representing Aliero/Gwandu/Jega federal constituency), Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi (representing Gummi/Bukuyum federal constituency), Hon. Ahmad Sani Muhammad (representing Bakura/Maradun) and Hon. Usman Bashiru Gorou (Goronyo/Gada).
NEMA staff along with officials of SEMA Sokoto State were involved in the distribution of the relief items to the affected persons in the communities affected, particularly in Bachaka in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The relief material approved and distributed to the affected persons is made up of food and non-food items as well as building materials.
