GOC’s Ask Soldiers To Sustain The Fight Against Insurgents

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander, Sector 1 of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Brigadier General Abubakar Haruna, has urged troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade (TF Bde), Chibok, to maintain their relentless efforts against Boko Haram terrorists and other insurgent groups in the North East region.

The GOC delivered this message during an operational visit to the 28 TF Brigade Headquarters in Chibok. Upon his arrival, Brigadier General Haruna was warmly received by the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Bede Amakor and was honored with a quarter guard inspection. Following this, he received a comprehensive operational briefing.

Addressing the troops, Brigadier General Haruna emphasized the importance of loyalty, discipline, and adherence to the chain of command. He highlighted the Nigerian Army’s commitment, under the leadership of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, to upholding professionalism, ensuring troop welfare, and respecting the rule of law.

The GOC strongly cautioned against any involvement in illicit activities, including arms racketeering, warning that any personnel found culpable would face stringent disciplinary measures. He assured the troops of continued logistical and operational support to enhance their effectiveness in the field.

Brigadier General Haruna also encouraged the troops to maintain regular communication with their families and to take periodic leaves to visit them, in line with the standing operational procedures of Operation HADIN KAI. This, he noted, is vital for sustaining morale and mental well-being.

The GOC’s visit was conducted in the company of unit and formation commanders, as well as senior staff officers of the 7 Division.
