Abia Airport: A Missed Opportunity By Previous Governments – Opinion

Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba

I am thrilled about the groundbreaking ceremony for the first airport in our beloved God’s own State, Abia, a landmark initiative by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu (GCFR) in collaboration with the Abia State Government, ably led by you.

This moment marks a significant turning point for our state, opening doors to countless opportunities for economic growth and infrastructural advancement.

An airport is more than just a transportation hub; it serves as a catalyst for growth and development, fostering trade, investment, tourism, and job creation. It connects people, businesses, and ideas, positioning regions for global relevance. This project addresses a long-standing need I had strongly canvassed for these past years, and represents a bold step towards unlocking the full economic potential of Aba and Abia State.

It is worth noting that this vision was a missed opportunity by past governments, a chance to leave a legacy that would benefit generations which you have captured vividly. Nevertheless, today, we look ahead with optimism, knowing that this airport will serve as a cornerstone of economic progress, linking our industrious people to local and international markets.

Abia State is ready to soar, and this airport is the launchpad for our collective growth and prosperity.
