Epe LGA Chairman Receives Best Tourism Friendly Chairman Award

Epe Local Government Chairman, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashun, FHTI, has been bestowed with the “Best Tourism Friendly Chairman Award” at the just concluded Destination Lagos Awards.

The award, which was presented to her at the JK Randle Cultural Centre, Onikan Lagos, over the weekend, validates the Chairman’s outstanding contributions to tourism, acknowledging her tireless efforts in promoting Epe’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.

As a renowned tourism expert, Princess Animashaun has been instrumental in developing the tourism sector, creating opportunities for economic growth and cultural exchange.

Princess Animashaun expressed her gratitude to the organisers of the award, stating that the recognition will further motivate her to continue striving for excellence in tourism development.

She emphasised her commitment to working with stakeholders to enhance tourism potential, create jobs, and drive economic growth in Epe.

According to her, the award further solidifies her position as a trailblazing leader while her achievements serve as a testament to an unrepentant dedication to the wellbeing of Epe residents.

This award adds to Princess Animashaun’s impressive track record, which includes awards by Yomafa and Wora, as well as the Epe Division Female Ambassador of the Year Award.

The Destination Lagos Awards 2024 is a celebration of excellence in Lagos State’s tourism and hospitality sectors. It was organised to recognise individuals and organisations that have demonstrated outstanding dedication to advancing Lagos as a premier tourism destination.

The Award ceremony featured an exciting lineup of activities, including Cultural Performances celebrating Lagos State’s diverse heritage, arts and crafts and Exhibitions showcasing works by local artists and artisans.
