Epe Auto Crash: Commissioner Commiserates With Family of Deceased Teacher, Injured Victims

The Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun has commiserated with the victims and particularly, the family of the late Mr. Adeyeye Adewuyi Abel, a Teacher at Pobuna Junior Secondary Grammar School, Epe, who lost his life in the Epe auto-crash along Ijebu- Ode/Epe road on Tuesday.

The Teachers, who were returning from the ongoing staff audit exercise organised by the State Government in a convoy, ran into an articulated vehicle driving against traffic and collided with the lead bus in the convoy.

Two of the severely injured teachers had been referred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), while others received treatment at the Epe General Hospital.

“May his indelible memories remain a blessing to us all. May Allah (SWT) bring the family of the deceased comfort, peace grant the departed soul Aljanna Firda,” the Commissioner stated.

Meanwhile the Chairman of Epe Local Government Area, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun has expressed sadness over the tragic loss of Mr. Adeyeye Adewuyi Abel, a dedicated Basic Technology Teacher at Pobuna Junior Secondary School, Poka, Epe, who lost his life in the Odolewu road accident.

The unfortunate incident, according to her, occurred on Tuesday, 31st December, 2024 in an auto-crash along Ijebu-Ode/Epe road when the teacher and some of his colleagues were returning from a staff audit exercise organised by the State Government.

In a condolence message, the Chairman said: “I extend my deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, and loved ones of Mr. Adeyeye. The deceased’s selfless devotion to education has left a lasting impact on our community. May God grant the family of the deceased the strength to bear the irreparable loss. I also pray for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.”

She urged relevant and concerned authorities to take proactive measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
