The Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly Hon Mudashiru Obasa has been impeached by members of the House.
His Deputy, Hon Lasbat Mernada, was elected to take over from him while the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon Fatai Mojeed has been elected as the Deputy Speaker.
Mrs Mernada, who represents Apapa Constituency 1, was also a former chief whip of the house.
RovingNaija gathered that the embattled former Speaker representing the good people of Agege Constituency 1, has been engulfed in series of controversies and he was also accused by his colleagues of multiple statutory and financial infractions.
The removal is coming less than a month after the former Speaker was accused of allegedly spending N17 billion to fix a gate that leads to the Assembly.
