
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Mr. Sesan Tunde Ogundeko, MNI, has been decorated on Wednesday as a Special Traffic Mayor by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). The honour was in recognition of his outstanding dedication and commitment to improving traffic flow and safety in the state.
The ceremony, which was held at the conference room of the Ministry, is a testament to the Permanent Secretary’s active contribution towards traffic management and his exemplary service in the State.
The visibly elated Permanent Secretary expressed his appreciation to the management of LASTMA for honouring him and praised their dedication to traffic management in the state.
Mr. Ogundeko encouraged the uniformed personnel to continue to improve free traffic flow in the metropolis and ensure that traffic gridlocks and congestions become a thing of the past. He pledged continued support to the agency and advised that continuous training of the personnel will ensure an efficient and effective discharge of their duties.
The Director, Traffic Advocacy and Special Traffic Mayor, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Jimmy Awoyemi remarked that efforts to address transportation challenges would have a ripple effect, encouraging others to follow suit to ultimately help ease transportation woes within the state.
He promised that commuters should expect an improved public transportation system, reduction of traffic congestion and enhanced overall mobility through the initiative.
