Lagos Will Partner With BBC, CNN, To Amplify Lagos To The World – Tourism Commissioner

The Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, received the Vice President, Commercial, Europe and Africa, BBC Studios, Isla Macleod, in her office at Alausa, Ikeja recently.

The visit provided an opportunity for discussions on strategic collaborations between Lagos State and BBC Studios to highlight the state’s rich tourism offerings on a global scale.

Commissioner Benson-Awoyinka expressed her excitement about the prospects of leveraging BBC’s vast media reach to showcase Lagos as a dynamic cultural hub, a thriving financial center, and a prime tourism destination in Africa.

She emphasized the importance of partnerships with international media organizations, such as the BBC and CNN, in amplifying Lagos’s visibility to a worldwide audience of over 25–30 million viewers across various platforms.

The Commissioner reaffirmed Lagos State’s commitment to fostering collaborations that will enhance the global perception of the city and further position it as a top destination for business, leisure, and entertainment.

The engagement aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s vision of making Lagos a global tourism powerhouse by promoting its heritage, gastronomy, arts, and vibrant lifestyle to the world.
