The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Akutah Pius Ukeyima Esq., MON, FCILT, FInsTA, Ph.D., has commended the Comptroller General of Customs, Dr. Adewale Adeniyi, for introducing the Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) Program and other initiatives aimed at modernizing the customs service and facilitate trade in the country.
Dr. Pius made the commendation recently during the Authorized Economic Operators Program in Lagos, stating that the present administration is impressed with the contributions of the Nigeria Customs Service to the nation’s economy.
In his remarks, the Comptroller General of Customs, Dr. Adewale Adeniyi, described the newly introduced Authorized Economic Operators Program as a trade facilitation mechanism and a game-changer for Nigeria’s economy.
According to him, the AEO Program will enhance competitiveness and reduce customs clearance time.
