Osun State Government Condemns Call For State Of Emergency In The State

The Osun state Government led by Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP, has expressed it’s deep anger at a statement credited to the APC National scribe, Senator Ajibola Basiru, in which he called on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to extend the declaration of the state of emergency which was done in River State to Osun state.

Osun state government views this call as callous, self centered and unlawful, going by the fact that there’s a world of difference between the current political development in Rivers and Osun when placed side by side.

The Honorable Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, in a statement on behalf of the government and good people of Osun state has however advised Senator Basiru and his party, APC, not to throw the peace and tranquility being currently enjoyed in Osun to a turmoil, all in an attempt to take the reigns of governance through the backdoor.
