Appeal Court Dismisses Suit By Uche Secondus

The Court of Appeal Port Harcourt Division, has dismissed a suit by suspended national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Uche Secondus.

The Court also granted leave to the PDP proceed with its elective national convention scheduled for October 30 and October 31.

The panel of three judges led by Justice Haruna Tsammani found no merit in Mr Secondus’ appeal saying he voluntarily relinquished his office since he did not challenge his removal at ward and local government levels.

Secondus had filed the suit marked: CA/PH/339/2021 seeking, among others, to restrain the PDP from conducting its national convention which is scheduled to hold in Abuja on Oct. 30th and 31st.

Reacting to the judgement, the counsel to Mr. Secondus, Tayo Oyetibo (SAN) said it is still not over.

He averred that the court has allowed the party to go on with the election because of the scale of preparation already put in place by the party.

He however said that the appeal continues, hinting that Mr. Uche Secondus is set to pursue the suit to the highest court in the country.
