Did Alaafin Of Oyo Really See His Death Coming? Here Is What We know
Oba Lamidi Adeyemi’s premonition about what was ahead of him, could be likened to that of French Astologer and renowned seer, Michael Nostradamus, Author of The Man Who Saw Tomorrow.
RovingNaija reports that everything about the Monarch’s last moments on earth bore the imprimatur of a man who had obtained a boarding pass, boarded the flight and only waiting to depart from the terrestrial world.
He finally joined his ancestors on Friday night at the age of 83 and after he had reigned for 52 years on the throne.
Speaking to newsmen after his remains was brought to Oyo Palace on Saturday, a resident of the town who preferred to be anonymous narrated how Oba Adeyemi had a premonition of his passage.
She said, “Alaafin invited us about two weeks ago, saying that he saw his father, telling him it is time to come over. We were shocked. We asked him, is that so? He said yes.
“What surprised me most was that he died on the day of Jakuta Sango (A traditional festival in Oyo). But we’re contented with the fact that he lived a good life. A life well spent. We wish him eternal rest with his ancestors,” she said.
Similarly, it was reported that the monarch died on the same day his last daughter celebrated her birthday.
Meanwhile, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi would be buried on Saturday evening in line with Islamic rites.
