Breaking! Ex-Nigerian Minister Dumps APC
Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uguru Usani has announced his defection from the ruling All Progressive Congress.
The former minister hinged his decision on the “democratic shrinking space” created by the APC.
Usani was one of the pioneer members of the party in Cross Rivers state and was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari, as Niger Delta Affairs Minister.
The 61-year-old politician had contested for the governorship seat in Cross River state three times: 2003, 2011, and 2019. It will be his fourth attempt if he eventually contests in 2023.
He is expected to run on the platform of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP).
