Okorocha’s Daughter Gives A Personal Account Of How EFCC Invaded Their Home & Forcefully Arrested Her Father

In what seems like a dramatic scene in an action movie, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday invaded the home of APC presidential aspirant, Rochas Okaracha and forcefully whisked him away.

But his arrest didn’t come without some displays of force and disruption of public peace around the area. It was practically carried out in a commando style after about eight hours of laying siege in the premises.

Speaking on the incident while appearing on Wednesday edition of Arise News Morning Show, daughter of the former governor of Imo state, Uluoma gave a detailed account of what really transpired at home before he was eventually taken away.

According to her, she was in the house with her Dad around 9am. Her Dad was preparing to go for APC presidential screening and she was to follow him with their mother.

All of a sudden, they started hearing noise in the compound. Asked what was going, they were told it was EFCC. They said they came to arrest Okorocha. He told them to allow him go for screening and then, he would honour their invitation but they refused.

Uluoma said she personally asked them if they had any search warrant but they said they had none neither was there any document to carry out the arrest. She told them what they were doing was illegal and unconstitutional.

Later, the officials tried to break through the bullet proof door with an iron but it was difficult for them. She claimed that they eventually broke through the ceiling and damaged their POP so as to gain access to their living room.

She explained that they beat her brother, collected her mother’s phone and pushed her down the staircase. They destroyed the cctv camera and forcefully pushed her father into their bus despite telling them he wanted to go in his own vehicle.

According to Uluoma, what happened was not the kind of situation any daughter would like to see her father in. It was an horrendous experience for her.

She said her father was not resisting their arrest in the first place. She noted that there was a court case scheduled for 31st of this month in Port Harcourt. So why can’t they wait till then?

She described the invasion and the arrest as worrisome and a deliberate attempt to deny her father the opportunity to attend the presidential screening which was later postponed by the APC.
