By Tolulope Popoola

A distressed woman, Charity Oriachi, has cried out for justice over the gruesome murder of her husband, a Nigerian named Alika Ogorchukwu, in Italy.

The late Ogorchukwu was killed during the weekend.

The Italian police authorities have said a 39-year-old Nigerian, Alika Ogorchukwu, was killed by his attacker, Fillipo Ferlazzo, over alms begging, adding that Ogorchukwu was beaten to death on Friday by Ferlazzo in Civitanova Marche city, in the Province of Macerata, Marche Region of Italy.

While briefing the public on the incident, the police said that the victim drew the ire of his attacker, having persistently begged for money from him.

“The attacker chased the victim and first attacked him with a crutch, then knocked him to the ground and finished him off, killing him by repeatedly striking him with his bare hands.

“It is a murder determined by futile motives. What emerges from the investigation is that the victim was particularly persistent in begging money from the attacker and his partner,” the police said.

Further reports states that the police used street cameras to track Ferlazzo’s movements and arrested him on Saturday on charges of murder and allegedly stealing the victim’s mobile phone.

“The accused is currently being held in the Montacuto prison in Ancona, while the wife of the deceased, Charity Oriachi, is still demanding justice for the death of her husband.
