Lagos Police Command Reacts To Gani Adams’ Statement About Badits Camping In S/West Forests
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer has spoken on the need for the people of the state to be on alert and draw the attention of the state police command to whatever suspicious activities or movement in their environments.
The command spokesman made this statement while reacting to the litany of questions from Arise TV Presenters during the Monday edition of Morning Show.
Hundeyin believes that before police can make the required security impact expected by members of the public, there must be a synagy between the command and the people. People must provide necessary information that will enable the police rid the state of criminal elements.
Speaking specifically on the alarm raised by the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Gani Adams on the camping of bandits in the southwest, the Police spokesperson said he can only talk about what the police is doing in Lagos state for now.
Recalled that Gani Adams in a statement issued by his Media Aide on Sunday, identified Osun and Ogun states as the two states where Bandits are currently camping and advised the southwest Governors to convene an emergency security meeting so as to prevent any attack by the criminal group.
In his reaction, Benjamin Hundeyin assured the people of Lagos that the police is working to ensure the Lagos State is made unconducive for bandits or any other form terrorists to operate. He revealed that the state police command has put up an adequate measure to ensure bandits will not have their way in Lagos.
He said he would not speak on behalf of other state but he believes that police commands in the remaining South West States are doing everything possible within their domains to ensure such attack does not happen.
