Selfish and overrated: Nigerians roast Emmanuel Dennis on twitter over desperate penalty miss
November 17, 2022 will be a day to remember for football loving Nigerians and particularly for Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis.
The forward forced himself to take a penalty and eventually missed when the Super Eagles lost 4-0 to Portugal in an international friendly on Thursday.
Nigeria was two goals down when Dennis came on as a substitute in the second half for Moses Simon.
Moment later, Nigeria was awarded a penalty and Dennis went straight to pick the ball in a desperate bid to take the spot kick.
He was approached by Paul Onuachu, captain William Troost-Ekong and even the coach Jose Peseiro screemed from the sidelines for him to allow someone else take the kick but all to no avail.
The eventual penalty was saved by goalkeeper Rui Patricio, and Nigeria went on to conceded two more goals.
Angry Super Eagles fans have now taken to twitter to vent their frustration over what they call selfishness by Dennis.
