State Government Declares Two Days Public Holiday Over Buhari’s Visit
Civil Servants in Yobe State will momentarily heave a sigh of relief by the time the Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari pays a working visit to the state on Tuesday.
This is resulting from the two days public holidays declared by the state government to enable them welcome the president to the state.
In a report made available to journalist, the two days public holidays which will run from Tuesday and Wednesday will enable the workers give the Buhari a rousing welcome to the state.
The Head of Service in the state, Garba Bilal disclosed this in a statement to journalists in Damaturu on Sunday.
President Buhari will be visiting the state to inaugurate projects, including Cargo Airport, Ultra-Modern Market and Maternal and Child Health Care Complex.
According to Bilal, Governor Mai Mala Buni declared the public holiday to enable both the civil servants and the general public opportunity to receive the president who will be in the state on a one-day work visit.
“I write to inform you that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon Mai Mala Buni, has declared Monday 9 th and Tuesday 10 th January, 2023 as public holidays,” the statement read.
“This is to enable civil servants and the general public to receive the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, who will be in the state on a one-day State Visit to commission projects.”
He stated that civil servants will resume work on Wednesday, January 11.
