Yemi Alade releases short love film

By Samuel Onyekwere.

Nigeria afro pop queen Yemi Alade, has just released a new music video
and a short film for her lead single’ Home’.

This is sequel to the release of her new single ‘Home’ which hit the airwaves last week.

The new film which was shot by music video director, Clearance Peters, was released to the public few hours ago. It depicts a tortured love story between Yemi, who plays Nneka in the film and her lover Austine (Frankincense Eche-Ben).

She lived with her grandmother (Clarion Chukwura), who maltreated her, and so she found solace in the arms of Austin. She has to escape from her abusive grandmother and the difficult life in the village so as to be with the only man that gives her joy and hopes that they can live a better life elsewhere.

The movie opens with Yemi Alade racing towards her lover, Austine who is waiting for her in the rain. Unfortunately, Austine’s driver grows
impatient, whisking him away before Nneka makes it to the meeting
point.

“Home” is one of the singles that the singer dropped ahead of the
release of Woman of Steel, along with “Give Dem” and the dance banger
“Bounce.”

The release is just coming a few days after Alade signed a global licensing agreement with Universal Music Africa (UMA) – Universal
Music Group’s West African affiliate – in partnership with Universal
Music France (UMF).

Under the multi-year agreement, UMA will serve as the exclusive
worldwide recorded music partner for Yemi Alade and her label Effyzzie
Music Group, and UMF will serve as the international roll-out partner
for the project.
