Something Fishy Happened Following INEC’s Failure To Transmit Results Via IREV – IPAC Chairman
As Nigerians gear up to elect a new leadership at various states level, the drama, disappointment and traumatic experience of the last presidential and National Assembly elections have continued to dominate discussions in the media.
With the governorship and house of Assembly elections barely a week away, attention appear to be focusing on the Independent National Electoral Commission with many asking whether the election umpire would learn from the questionable outing it had in the last presidential election or it will be business as usual.
Speaking on the development during Sunday Politics on Channels TV, the National Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, Sani Yabagi called on INEC chairman to live above board and use the privilege of the forthcoming governorship election to redeem his image.
The IPAC Chairman revealed that something went wrong in the last election and it was obvious to many Nigerians.
He said: “Something fishy happened following INEC failure to transmit results to IREV”
Yabagi disclosed that INEC would have saved itself from a lot of controversies if it has transmitted the polling units results to INEC Results Viewing portal as he promised Nigerians.
His inability to do that made Nigerians to suspect foul play and that has placed a serious question mark on his integrity.
He however wants the Commission to utilize its “second chance” in the governorship and assembly elections and redeem its image.
