I Won My 1st Election In 2015 But The Same Obingwa Result Was Used To Rig Me Out- Alex Otti

The governor-elect of Abia State, Alex Otti has described his election as the will of God and reward for resilience of people of the state.

Alex Otti was declared winner of Abia Governorship election after days of waiting, speculation and agitation by people of the state and Nigerians in general.

The former member of Editorial Board of Thisday Newspaper had fiercely slugged it out at the poll with governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party who was believed to be heading for victory before the result was finally announced.

While speaking on Channels TV Politics Today on Thursday, the governor-elect said the result of Obingwa local government area of the state has always been a bone of contention in every election year in the state.

He recalled how he won his first governorship election in 2015 but by the time result of the local government arrived, the narrative changed.

He said: “I won my first election in 2015 but the same Obingwa result was used to rig me out.”

He noted that unlike other local government, Obingwa result doesn’t come on time. And no matter the vote margin with which you are leading your opponent, if you have not seen Obingwa result, you can’t celebrate yet. Alex Otti said on Channels TV.
