Tinubu Cancels 71st Birthday Colloquium, Fixes Prayer For Nigeria
The Nigerian President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has canceled his 71 Birthday celebration slated for Wednesday March 29.
Tinubu made this known in a statement released by his Media Assistant, Tunde Rahman on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the former governor of Lagos is using the privilege of his birthday celebration to pray for peace, progress and unity of the country.
He asked his campaign council to fix a special prayer for the nation on Wednesday March 29 instead of holding his usual birthday colloquium.
Tinubu has been consistent with his annual lecture to mark his birthday every 29th of March.
The annual event that is regularly held at the Eko Hotel and Suites is always a gathering of eminent personalities, political stalwarts, captains of industry and other high profile Nigerians who used the day to honour the political icon, Bola Tinubu.
This is the first time the President-elect will not be holding his birthday colloquium in the last 10 years.
His decision to make it a prayer for the nation has however attracted reactions from Nigerians.
