Videoing or Recording men of the Nigerian Police Force during their official or unofficial duty outside the station can be a daunting task and risky decision for any Nigerian who falls into their trap, considering what the officers are capable of doing at the sight of them being recorded.
For those who are confused if such decision is the right step to take whenever they are stopped or arrested by men in uniform, there is clarity to the confusion from the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Adejobi, while reacting to a related question raised by a twitter user, made it known that there is no crime in recording policemen who arrest or stop anyone during their official duty.
The twitter user with the name Hammedlake had thrown a question to the Police image maker on twitter with a view to getting clarity on it.
He wrote: “quick question sir
Is it a crime for citizens to video/ record your men in public spaces while performing whatever duty, like an arrest, questioning, stop and search etc?
“It seems your men are always aggressive while doing this and threaten to arrest.

Responding to the question, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said:
“You can record or video our men on duty. There is nothing wrong. But those who kick against it have skeletons in their cupboard. Do you know the number of people who record and snap me per day.? If you do the right thing, you won’t be afraid of that.”
