Ex-Super Eagles defender Ajibade Babalade is set for his final journey to the great beyond as his final burial ceremony commences in the ancient city of Ibadan on Thursday.
Babalade died on September 4 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The burial programme obtained by Roving Naija indicates there will be a Wake-Keeping at the Liberty Stadium in Ibadan on Thursday, January 14th while the burial service will be held at the same venue on Friday.
The 48-year old took ill a day before his death and was taken to the University College Hospital Ibadan where he passed away.
The hard-tackling retired defender was part of the Super Eagles squad to the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal where the national team won the bronze.
Babalade won the inaugural Caf Cup against Nakivubo Villa in 1992, the double with Shooting Stars in 1995, played the Champions Cup final against Zamalek in 1996 and also won the WAFU cup in 1998.
He also played at the 1992 Nations Cup in Senegal.
