What Ondo Deputy Gov. Said After His Confirmation At State Assembly

Ondo state House of Assembly has screened and ratified Dr. Olayide Afolabi Adelami as Deputy Governor of the state.

The ratification was done during the plenary presided over by the Assembly speaker, Olamide Oladiji

The Clerk of the house, Benjamin Jaiyeola read the nomination letter written by the governor Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The house committee had earlier screened Dr Adelami for the position.

Submitting the report, the Deputy Speaker Prince Abayomi Akinruntan said during screening of Dr Adelami, it was confirmed that he is a man of reputable character, well exposed, physically and mentally fit for the position hence the confirmation of the deputy governor-designate.

Adelami in a response thanked Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for giving him the opportunity to serve, noting that he represents loyalty and would add values to the administration.

Adelami said his appointment was a call to duty as he promised to work for the development of Ondo state and the country at large at the same time promote harmonious relationship between the executive and the legislature.

The Deputy Governor emphasized that the executive arm needed the support of the people of Ondo state in order to perform for the development of the state.

In the words of the speaker, Oladiji tasked Adelami to work harmoniously with other arms of government and cannot afford to fail.

The speaker pledged the support of the legislature, stressing that with the confirmation of Adelami, the stage had been set for the rapid development of Ondo state.

The hallow chamber was filled with invited guests, traditional rulers, party faithful and family members who had come to grace the occasion.
