The Lagos State Traditional Medicine Board has graduated its last set of new Traditional Medicine Practitioners in the State.
The graduation ceremony was held at the Board’s Office on Lagos Island after the usual completion of an intensive six-week compulsory orientation course for Traditional Birth Attendants, General Practice and Traditional Complementary and Alternative Medicine practitioners.
In his address, the Registrar of LSTMB, Prince Babatunde Adele emphasised the importance of their roles as ambassadors of the Board, saying “As you embark on your professional journeys, remember that your actions and ethics reflect not only on yourselves but also on the entire field of traditional, alternative and complementary medicine practices. The registrar encouraged the graduates to uphold the values of integrity and professionalism in all their dealings”.
The high point of the event was the community spirit shown by the graduating class as they donated a signpost to the Board. This signpost, which will serve as a guiding symbol for future practitioners was unveiled during the ceremony, representing the graduates’ lasting commitment to their profession and the Board.
