Members of the Nigerian Police force on Monday in Akure, Ondo State arrested and paraded a 30-year-old woman, Blessing Jimoh for the alleged killing of her mother, Ijeoma Odo.
According to information made available to the Police, Ms. Jimoh, a mother of four children, confessed to the killing of her late mother an action she claimed was instigated by the revelation of her pastor that her mother is a witch.
In her confessional statement, Jimoh said she killed the deceased by cutting off her neck with a cutlass because she believed the late mother inflicted her with madness. She said the crime was committed on a farm in Ile-Iluji area in Ondo State.
She told the Police that the pastor who encouraged her to kill her mother is now on the run.
The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State, Bolaji Salami, said the suspect would soon be charged to court with other suspects paraded by the Police.
