Akpabio Pays Condolence Visit to EK Clark Family

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio on Thursday paid a condolence visit to the family of Pa Edwin Clark who died on Monday.
Akpabio who was accompanied to the Abuja residence of the late elderstatesman at Asokoro by some Senators, was received on arrival by the National Chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum(PANDEF), Ambassador Godknows Igali and children of the deceased.
Speaking during the visit, Akpabio said Pa Clark was a voice that would never be forgotten stressing that the history of Nigeria would be incomplete without mentioning his name.
“Your father was a Pan Africanist. He was totally Pan Nigerian. The shoe he left behind is very large. He did a lot. He affected lives all over the country. He fought for the less privileged and particularly people of the minorities in Nigeria,” he told the children.
Akpabio also recalled that Pa Edwin Clark gave his blessings when he informed him of his bid for Senate Presidency and that he reported back to the elderstatesman after his successful bid.
Ambassador Godknows Igali thanked the Senate President and his entourage for the visit and said Papa disclosed before his passage that he felt fulfilled at Akpabio’s emergence as the Senate President, long after Joseph Wayas of the South-South extraction occupied the post.
Ambassador Igali had on Wednesday led a delegation of PANDEF to the National Assembly to formally inform the Senate President of the demise of Pa Edwin Clark.
