Women’s Day: Dsva Sensitises Power Oil Staff On Workplace Harassment

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), in partnership with Tolaram, sensitised Power Oil staff on fostering a harassment-free workplace.

The engagement, organised by the Agency, was part of a two-day virtual conference aimed at driving meaningful progress toward gender equality and empowerment as part of activities marking the 2025 International Women’s Day with the theme: “Accelerate Action”.

Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, Executive Secretary of DSVA, emphasised the programme’s objective of creating safe and inclusive workplaces where all employees feel protected from harassment and discrimination.

Mrs. Oni Tumininu, Head of Case Management at DSVA, provided insights on different forms of workplace harassment. She explored its impact, preventive measures, and the available support services for survivors.

Mrs. Chidinma Okonkwo, Head of the Health, Safety and Environmental Department at Power Oil, expressed appreciation to DSVA for the session. She emphasised the importance of reporting cases of workplace harassment to the management or Human Resources department, urging employees to be bold and courageous in speaking up against any form of harassment.

The session saw active participation, with over 350 employees asking questions and contributing to discussions. DSVA also distributed informational materials on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), including the toll-free helpline 08000-333-333, for further support.
