Hall of Fame: Why Femi Kuti is still happy even though Fela lost out
It is always imperative for us to see the good or positives in any situation we find ourselves.
That is what has been demonstrated by Femi Kuti after the new inductees into the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced Wednesday.
In the past weeks, there have been massive campaigns seeking votes to see legendary musician, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti emerge tops in the race for induction into the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Though Nigerians and others across the world responded massively to the call to vote for Fela, the Afrobreat maestro missed out as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation today announced the new inductees of the 2021 class as The Go-Go’s, Carole King, Jay-Z, the Foo Fighters,Todd Rundgren, and Tina Turner.
Expectedly many were unhappy that despite the massive votes for Fela, he still lost out in the race to become an inductee of the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
This development has seen many talking but for Femi Kuti, he doesn’t see Fela’s snub as something that is bad in his entirety.
He wrote on his Twitter handle after the eventual winners were declared:
The legendary status of Fela remains even he has missed out on being inducted into the 2021 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
