The Rivers State police might have recorded a major feat as Gift Okpara popularly known as. 2 Baba, the prime suspect in the murder of a former Divisional Police Officer, Bako Angbashim has been feared dead.
This is after a land and aerial raid on his hideout by joint security operatives in Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state on Saturday afternoon.
A senior police officer who spoke to The Punch correspondent and pleaded anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the raid said, “2 Baba was hit severally with bullets alongside some of his loyalists.
“He fell flat on the ground, but some of his boys quickly took him away. The police are still moving in to get his corpse.”
RovingNaija News recalls that Superintendent Angbashim was ambushed and captured by the 2 Baba led gang in Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA of the State in September 2023.
When contacted, spokesperson of the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, promised to give journalists feedback but was yet to do so as of the time of filing this report
