Few Hours To End Of Legislative Tenure, Tension, Confusion Rock Ondo Assembly As Speaker Resigns 

Tension has mounted in the Ondo state house of assembly as armed security men laid seige at  the Assembly Complex located at Alagbaka Akure.

The action of the policemen and others may not be unconnected to a plan by the outgoing members of the assembly to impeach the outgoing Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun.

The two gates of the assembly complex were blocked by armed security men from the Nigeria police.

The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon Olugbenga Omole confirmed that armed security men have been moblised to the assembly complex

Omole dismissed insinuations that the Speaker had resigned, adding that the signature of Oleyelogun was forged on a fake letter in circulation.

A letter of resignation of the speaker has flooded the social media.

The valedictory sitting of the 9th assembly is expected to hold today.
