Fire Outbreak Sparks Pandemonium In Lagos As Residents Scamper For Safety

Residents and passersby in Maryland were gripped with fear on Wednesday morning with the outbreak of fire at a location close to under bridge in the area.

In the video which had gone viral on social media, the fire was noticably cascading from the electric cables that were hanging on the pole beside the busy expressroad.

While no one could ascertain the actual cause of the fire, some of the passersby who were running to safety could however be heard from the video that it was an electric spark from the pole.

The ill-fated poles carry the power cables that are connected to the transformer. The spark from the cable was what allegedly led to the heap of fire cascading down from the poles to the busy highway and created panic for passersby.

As at the time of filing this report, neither men from Ikeja electric nor LASEMA has arrived the venue.
