FG Accuses Peter Obi Of Promoting Insurrection, Calls Him A Desperate Politician

The Federal Government of Nigeria has described Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party as a desperate person.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed while holding a media briefing with international media representatives in the United States.

The minister is currently in the US to hold a media chat about the just concluded presidential election and its outcome as well as the controversies that have trailed the outcome.

While describing the reactions of Peter Obi to the outcome and how he has been going about the matter, Lai Mohammed revealed that the Labour Party candidate does not posses the attributes of a true democrat as he claims to be.

He described Obi’s action and that of his vice presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed as treason.

The minister said: “Obi and his Vice, Datti Ahmed cannot be threatening Nigerians that if the President-elect, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is sworn-in on May 29, it will be the end of democracy in Nigeria.

“This is treason. You cannot be inviting insurrection, and this is what they are doing.

“Obi’s statement is that of a desperate person, he is not the democrat that he claimed to be.

“A democrat should not believe in democracy only when he wins the election,” he said.

The minister said in challenging the election results, there was no pathway to victory for either Obi or Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
