Fresh Student Of Kwara College Of Education Slumps & Dies Few Hours To Matric & Her Birthday 

Aminat Akanke Tajudeen, a fresh Student of the Kwara State College of Education has died few days after she gained admission into the institution.

Admitted to study Music and Yoruba in the school, Aminat reportedly died a day to her matriculation to become a full-fledged student of the institution.

According to Daily Trust report, the young lady slumped in class during lecture and she was rushed to the school clinic. Unfortunately, she died before arriving the clinic but the medical staff did not confirm her death.

They referred her to the state teaching hospital due to what they described as severity of her condition. She was confirmed dead at the state teaching hospital.

Aminat was said to have already collected her matriculation gown which was scheduled to take place precisely on Thursday. Also on her Facebook account, she was expected to mark her birthday on the same day she would be matriculating as a student of the institution.

She had however been buried at the Muslim cemetery, Osere according to Islamic rite.

While speaking at her burial, the deceased’s father, said, “She showed no sign of sickness. We had quite a lengthy discussion on several issues before I escorted her to get a cab to the school.”

The college Public Relations Officer, Mrs Abibat Zubair, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that she was a student of Music/Yoruba, adding that she was mourned by the college and students during the matriculation ceremony.

Part of a post from her colleague in the Department of English/Islamic Studies, Abdulhameed Nafiu Ishola read: “Death took you away without notification. You were very jovial and gentle like a dove, easy-going and well-brought. You smiled at every word uttered to you and promised to stay and celebrate your birthday today (Thursday) with us. But you left us in sorrow”.
