IKOM Gets New Paramount Ruler

A new Paramount Ruler has emerged in Ikom Local Government Area in in Cross River state in the person of Minen Takon Atangba of Akparabong.

Minen Takon Atangba emerged the Paramount Ruler of Ikom through an election conducted by the Chairman of State Council, Cross River State, Etiyen Etim Okon Eset, at the Ikom Local Government Council Hall.

Four chiefs contested the election; they include Chief Minen Takon Atangba of Akparabong, Ntol Boniface Ndome of Abanyom, Okim Patrick Manyo Ojong of Ekpache Nkome and Ntun Bassey Okey of Ofutop.
In the keenly contested election, Minen Takon polled 11 votes, Ntol Boniface Ndome polled 6 votes, Okim Patrick Manyo and Ntun Bassey Okey both polled one vote each respectively.

Reacting to his victory, the Paramount Ruler-elect pledged to carry members of the Council along, while canvasing for their support. He expressed joy and thanked God for making him the winner of the election.

Chief Minen Takon Atangba also promised to synergize with the State Government to actualize his administration goals.
