The declaration to vie for the presidential ticket of the All Progressive Congress by vice president Yemi Osinbajo has continued to fuel public discourse that centres on 2023.

Osinbajo made his declaration to contest for the Nigerian oval office early on Monday morning, ending months of speculations about his ambition to take over from president Muhammadu Buhari.

Since the announcement was made, Nigerians have been taking to social media to express their feelings about the moves. 

While some people believe that Osinbajo does not morally qualify to seek Nigerians votes to be president of the country having been part of the government that led the Nation to where it is today, others see him as the messiah Nigeria needs at this time.

For Reno Omokri, former media aide to the former president Goodluck Jonathan, it is a different story. 

Omokri,a renowned critic of Buhari’s administration took to his Twitter account shortly after the official declaration of the vice president to challenge any Osinbajo’s supporter with the information or proof of achievement of the vice president in the last over 7 years he has been in power as number 2 man in the country.

If anyone could come out with such proof, he or she stands to get a sum of 1,000 US dollar.

He wrote: “Can you name a specific achievement Osinbajo listed in his declaration speech and get $1000? Not promises. I refer to achievements. For instance, ‘I promised this in 2015, and I delivered this in 2022’. I need one Osinbajo supporter to respond and get $1000”
