Those Who Cried That Army Shot Protesters At Lekki Now Beg Army To Save Democracy- Keyamo

The Chief Spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo has slammed protesters who marched to the Army headquarters to intervene in the situation of the country over the irregularities that marred the just concluded presidential, Governorship and States Houses of Assembly elections in Nigeria.

Since the conclusion of the general elections, the reign of protests has become the new phenomenon in the country.

Some protesters from the opposition party had continued their march against what they described as injustice on the streets of Abuja on Tuesday.

They marched to the Army headquarters asking the Nigerian Army to intervene and save Nigeria’s Democracy.

Reacting to the development, Festus Keyamo disclosed that it is the same set of people who were crying wolf that Military has no business in civil matters that are now asking the military to save democracy.

He said: “Those who cried that Army Shot protesters at Lekki Tollgate now beg Army to save democracy.”

The minister of Labour and Employment made the statement on his verified twitter handle on Wednesday.

He wrote: “Those who consistently cried wolf that the Army shot protesters at Lekki toll gate (they argued that the Army has no business in civil matters) recently matched to Army Headquarters in Abuja and did the ENDSARS salute and song calling on the Army to intervene and ‘save our democracy’! Wonders of hypocrisy shall never end!”
